Pride and Prejudice: An Intro To Contemporary Fashion (Part 7)

For our final part, we’ve saved the best for last!

That final scene of Matthew MacFadyen walking toward Keira Knightly is perhaps my favorite filmed scene in all of Pride and Prejudice fandom. The film guys on set got the light perfectly as it touched Darcy and Elizabeth both and they professed their love for each other.

Very romantic, but also somewhat realistic. How, you might say? Darcy’s clothing, of course! Not that all 19th century men walked about with their shirt hanging open. But the coat with the tails, the breeches, the white shirt (although the collar is different) is all there! And for that, I kindly thank the costume designers on 2005’s Pride and Prejudice for that!
